Nikki Roger also produces music for other artists, teaches music and creates weekly short-form videos turning everyday sounds into songs. His work follows a simple stoic principle:
“Do the work. Don’t fight the process. It doesn’t have to be perfect - it just has to exist.”
Nikki Roger is the solo project of Belgian musician, producer and songwriter Nikki Roger Armand Kiekens. A multi-instrumentalist with a fully DIY approach, he builds warm, emotionally grounded indie songs from small spaces and everyday moments.
After years in the Belgian indie and punk scene -including the high-energy band Tien Ton Vuist- he developed a personal sound rooted in limitation as creative strength. All music, visuals and artwork are created independently in his home studio or in the room above his father’s garage.
His debut album Dream On blends lo-fi indie textures with melodic warmth and emotional clarity. Inspired by ’90s indie aesthetics but grounded in the present, the album explores family, memory, love, loss and the value of small moments. The tone is reflective, human and quietly hopeful.
The single Wa Choco Wa Choco is an energetic indie track built around a playful vocal from his toddler. It’s about slowing down, letting go of pressure and staying present.
Beeconnee is a dreamy indie alternative track built around the line “be connected to yourself.” It reflects on identity, pressure and finding your way back inward.
Democracy Manifest is a socially critical indie track built around fragments of Jack Karlson’s arrest speech. It reflects on ego, leadership and staying grounded in a noisy world.
The album is supported by five DIY music videos featuring VHS-style family footage, fisheye experiments, found-object lenses and travel recordings, forming a cohesive, handmade visual identity.
